The HCNW4506 optocoupler features an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to a high gain photo detector. With minimized propagation delay difference between devices, it is an excellent solution for improving inverter efficiency by reducing switching dead time. The on-chip 20 k? output pull-up resistor can be enabled by shorting output pins 6 and 7, eliminating the need for an external pull-up resistor in common IPM applications.
Specifications and performance plots are provided for typical IPM applications, making it suitable for various uses like IPM isolation, isolated IGBT/MOSFET gate drive, AC and brushless DC motor drives, and industrial inverters.
