The A4988 driver Stepper Motor Driver includes a fixed off-time current regulator and can operate in slow or mixed decay mode. It is suitable for applications where a complex microprocessor is not available or overloaded. The chopping control automatically selects the current decay mode, reducing motor noise and increasing step accuracy.
Internal circuit protection features thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout, and crossover current protection. The driver does not require special power-up sequencing. It comes in a compact surface mount package with an exposed thermal pad for heat dissipation.
Attention: Connecting or disconnecting the motor while the driver is powered can damage the system.
