Force Pressure Sensor 0.5-Inch Diameter
High-quality force pressure sensor for sensing a range of 100g-10kg. Easily interfaces with microcontrollers and boards.
This is a force sensitive resistor, with a round, 0.5 inch diameter, sensing area. The resistance of this FSR will vary depending on how much pressure is being applied. The harder the force, the lower the resistance. When no pressure is applied, its resistance is larger than 1M?. The FSR can sense applied force ranging from 100g to 10kg.
Two pins extend from the bottom of the sensor with 0.1 inch pitch making it breadboard friendly. There's a peel-and-stick rubber backing on the other side of the sensing area for mounting. All you need to do is connect a resistor to form a voltage divider and then measure the voltage at the junction to find the force applied.
These sensors are great for sensing pressure, but aren't overly accurate. Ideal for sensing if something's being squeezed, but not recommended for use as a scale. The sensor can easily interface with Microcontrollers, Arduino Boards, Raspberry Pi, etc. using an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC).
