The DS75176B is a high-speed differential TRI-STATE bus/line transceiver designed to comply with the EIA standard RS485. It has an extended common mode range of +12V to -7V, making it suitable for multipoint data transmission scenarios. The transceiver is also compatible with RS-422, providing versatility in communication setups.
With a thermal shutdown circuit, this transceiver can handle bus contention or fault situations effectively, ensuring minimal power dissipation. The driver and receiver outputs feature TRI-STATE capability across the entire common mode range, allowing for seamless operation.
DC specifications are guaranteed over a wide temperature range of 0 to 70°C and a supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V, enhancing the reliability of the DS75176B in varying operating conditions.
Pin-out compatibility with DS3695/A and SN75176A/B simplifies integration, and its combined impedance of a driver output and receiver input is less than one RS485 unit load, enabling the connection of up to 32 transceivers on the bus.
Furthermore, the DS75176B features thermal shutdown protection, high impedance to the bus, and typical receiver hysteresis of 70mV, enhancing the overall performance and safety of the communication system.
