The CP2112 USB-to-SMBus bridge controller offers fast USB connectivity with minimal development effort. It features a configurable SMBus interface with options for clock speed, timeouts, and device address. The device includes eight GPIO signals that can be controlled through USB, supporting various configurations and alternate features.
The CP2112 uses the standard USB HID device class, eliminating the need for custom drivers on most operating systems. Host applications communicate with the CP2112 through provided interface libraries. The device is suitable for portable controllers, USB dongles, and data logging applications.
External pull-up resistors are required for the SCL and SDA signals. The CP2112 supports I/O interface voltages down to 1.8V via the VIO pin. It also includes features like a clock output for external devices and LED toggling during SMBus read/write operations.
