The ADE7753 incorporates two second-order 16-bit ADCs, a digital integrator, reference circuitry, and a temperature sensor. It performs active, reactive, and apparent energy measurements, line-voltage period measurement, and rms calculation on voltage and current.
The selectable on-chip digital integrator provides an interface to di/dt current sensors, eliminating the need for an external analog integrator and ensuring long-term stability.
The part offers system calibration features like channel offset correction, phase calibration, and power calibration for high accuracy. It also detects short duration low or high voltage variations.
The positive-only accumulation mode accumulates energy only with positive power detection, ensuring no creep with no load. The zero-crossing output produces a synchronized pulse at the line voltage zero-crossing point, enabling faster calibration.
The interrupt status register indicates the interrupt nature, while the interrupt enable register controls the IRQ pin output. The part is available in a 20-lead SSOP package.
