The ADC0804 is a CMOS 8-Bit A/D converter that utilizes a modified potentiometric ladder. It is designed to work seamlessly with the 8080A control bus through three-state outputs. This converter is recognized by the processor as memory locations or I/O ports, eliminating the need for additional interfacing logic.
With good common mode-rejection on the differential analog voltage input, users can offset the analog zero-input voltage value. The voltage reference input is adjustable, enabling encoding of smaller analog voltage spans into the full 8 bits of resolution.
The ADC0804 is compatible with 80C48 and 80C80/85 buses without requiring interfacing logic. It offers TTL compatible inputs and outputs, making it easy to integrate with various systems. The device operates in a "Stand Alone" mode and features an on-chip clock generator for added convenience.
Additionally, the analog voltage input range (Single + 5V Supply) is from 0V to 5V, with no zero-adjustment required. The ADC0804 works with band gap voltage references, ensuring accurate and reliable performance.
