The AD790 is a fast (45 ns), precise voltage comparator that can operate from a single 5 V supply or a dual ±15 V supply. It features inputs that may be referred to ground in single-supply mode, a unique ability to handle a maximum differential voltage of 15 V in dual-supply mode, and outstanding input voltage resolution of 1 mV max.
Utilizing Analog Devices’ Complementary Bipolar (CB) process, the AD790 delivers a combination of fast response time and outstanding input voltage resolution. It incorporates a “low glitch” output stage to maintain speed and accuracy, reducing power supply disturbances that can lead to undesired oscillations.
The AD790 is available in five performance grades to suit various temperature ranges:
- AD790J and AD790K: Commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C
- AD790A and AD790B: Industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C
- AD790S: Military temperature range of -55°C to +125°C
Available in 8-Pin Plastic and Hermetic Cerdip Packages, the AD790 also comes in Tape and Reel packaging according to EIA-481A Standard.
