The 74LS157 is a high-speed Quad 2-Input Multiplexer designed to select four bits of data from two sources using common Select and Enable inputs. It can generate any four of the 16 different functions of two variables. Fabricated with the Schottky barrier diode process, it ensures high speed and compatibility with all Motorola TTL families.

Applications include expanding data input points, multiplexing dual data buses, generating four functions of two variables (one variable is common), and source programmable counters.
