The 74HC4020 is a 16 Pin 14-Stage Binary Ripple Counter IC designed with a clock input (CP), an asynchronous master reset input (MR), and 12 buffered parallel outputs (Q0, and Q3 to Q13). It operates within a voltage range of 2V to 6V and has an input current of 1uA. The counter advances on the HIGH-to-LOW transition of CP. A HIGH on MR clears all counter stages and sets all outputs LOW, regardless of CP's state. Each counter stage functions as a static toggle flip-flop. The device is equipped with reduced input threshold levels for easy interfacing with TTL logic levels. It also includes clamp diodes on inputs, allowing the use of current-limiting resistors for interfacing with voltages exceeding VCC.
