The 74HC165 is an 8-bit serial shift register that transfers data from QA to QH when clocked. It has the ability to drive 10 LS-TTL loads and is pin-out compatible with the standard 74LS logic family. Clocking is controlled through a 2-input NOR gate, allowing clock inhibition and data transfer on the positive clock edge.
Parallel loading is inhibited when SHIFT/LOAD input is high, and data is loaded directly into the register when taken low. All inputs are protected from static discharge, ensuring reliability and durability in operation.
