The 6N136 optocoupler features a GaAIAs infrared emitting diode optically coupled with an integrated photodetector containing a photodiode and a high-speed transistor in a DIP8 plastic package. It allows signal transmission between isolated circuits with frequencies of up to 2 MHz, while ensuring that the potential difference between the coupled circuits stays within the maximum permissible reference voltages.
