The 6-0-6 2A Center Tapped Step Down Transformer is designed for DIY projects requiring high current drain, on chassis AC/AC converter, and designing a battery charger. The transformer has flying colored insulated connecting leads (Approx 100 mm long) and acts as a step-down transformer reducing AC 230V to AC 6V. It provides outputs of 6V, 6V, and 0V.
The transformer's construction includes a solid core and winding. It is a static electrical device that transfers energy by inductive coupling between its winding circuits. The cores are made of high permeability silicon steel, which greatly reduces the magnetizing current and confines the flux to a path closely coupling the winding.
