The 4 x 4 matrix keypad is commonly utilized as an input device in various projects. It comprises 16 keys arranged in a matrix format, allowing for efficient data entry. The keypad module features microswitch buttons and includes four 3mm mounting holes for easy installation.
The functionality of the keypad involves setting the rows to a high level and then sequentially setting them to low to detect key presses in the columns. By analyzing the status of the rows and columns, the specific key pressed can be identified.
Each PCB of the module is equipped with pin designations for easy connectivity. The module comes with pre-soldered pin headers, rotated 90 degrees for convenient usage.
Available in red and black push-button variants, the color of the shipped product may vary between blue and black.
