4503 (1:1) Thyristor Trigger Isolation Pulse Transformer
A versatile pulse transformer for triggering SCR's and more
- Ratio: 1:1:1 (1 primary coil & 2 secondary coils)
- Legs: 6 (2 primary, 4 secondary)
- Isolation: Electrically isolated secondary windings
- Applications: SCR triggering, signal transmission, control circuits
Key Features:
- Plastic shell casing
- Optimized for voltage pulse transmission
- Minimum leakage inductance
- Can fire two SCR's in inverse configuration
The 4503 Pulse Transformer is designed for coupling input to two outputs, with a 1:1:1 ratio featuring one primary coil and two secondary coils. The transformer's six legs include two for the primary and four for the secondary coils, ensuring electrical isolation between the secondary windings to minimize leakage inductance. When a pulse is applied at the primary, outputs are received at both secondary outputs, making it ideal for triggering two SCR's in an inverse configuration.
Also known as a gate transformer, gate drive transformer, trigger transformer, wide-band transformer, or signal transformer, this pulse transformer is optimized for transmitting voltage pulses between windings and into the load. It finds applications in signal transmission, low-power control circuits, camera flashes, radar systems, high-power switched-mode power supplies, and other fields requiring isolated bursts of rectangular pulses.
