Carbon fibre tubes can replace aluminium or steel tubes in various projects, offering superior strength and lighter weight. This 20mm roll-wrapped carbon fibre tube is manufactured using high modulus (T700) unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre for maximum strength. The tube is not strong across its diameter but along its length, making it ideal for applications avoiding crushing forces.
The roll-wrapped process involves laying up prepreg carbon fibre around a mandrel in multiple layers, then spiral-wrapping with heat-shrink tape before oven curing.
