The 24-0-24 3A Center Tapped Step Down Transformer is designed for various applications such as DIY projects requiring high current drain, on chassis AC/AC converter, and designing a battery charger. The transformer has a center tapped secondary winding and flying colored insulated connecting leads (Approx 100 mm long).
The construction of the transformer includes a solid core and winding. It acts as a step-down transformer, reducing AC from 230V to 24V. The transformer's cores are made of high permeability silicon steel, which greatly reduces the magnetizing current and confines the flux to a path closely coupling the winding.
A varying current in the primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the core, inducing a varying electromotive force (E.M.F) or voltage in the secondary winding.
