The 12-0-12 2Amp Center Tapped Step Down Transformer is designed for DIY projects requiring high current drain, chassis AC/AC converter, and designing a battery charger. The transformer acts as a step-down transformer, reducing AC from 230V to 12V, providing outputs of 12V, 12V, and 0V. It features a solid core and winding construction, with cores made of high permeability silicon steel to reduce magnetizing current and confine flux.
The transformer is a static electrical device that transfers energy through inductive coupling between its winding circuits. A varying current in the primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the core, inducing a varying electromotive force in the secondary winding.
The transformer comes with flying colored insulated connecting leads (approximately 100 mm long) for easy installation and connection.
