The 0-18 500mA Step Down Transformer is designed to act as a step-down transformer, reducing AC from 230V to 18V. It has a non-center tapped secondary winding with flying colored insulated connecting leads, approximately 100mm long.
The transformer's construction includes a solid core and winding. It is a static electrical device that transfers energy through inductive coupling between its winding circuits. The transformer features cores made of high permeability silicon steel, which greatly reduces magnetizing current and confines the flux to closely couple the winding.
