The 0-15 2 Amp Step Down Transformer is designed for DIY projects requiring high current drain, on chassis AC/AC converter, and designing a battery charger. The transformer acts as a step-down transformer, reducing AC - 230V to AC - 15V, with outputs of 15V and 0V. It has a solid core and winding construction, with cores made of high permeability silicon steel to reduce magnetizing current and confine the flux.
The transformer has a non-center tapped secondary winding with flying colored insulated connecting leads (Approx 100 mm long). It is a static electrical device that transfers energy by inductive coupling between its winding circuits. A varying current in the primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the core, inducing a varying electromotive force in the secondary winding.
